Dr. Rine and Lance

Stacy L. Rine, D.V.M. –
Veterinarian and Hospital Owner

Dr. Stacy Rine was born in Silver Spring, Maryland. After high school, Dr. Rine moved to Florida where she earned her Associate’s Degree in Photography. She enjoyed a brief career as photojournalist, but she could no longer ignore her love of animals. After working at a veterinary hospital kennel in Plantation, Florida , Dr. Rine decided to follow her passion for veterinary medicine. She began her studies at Broward Community College and soon transferred to Florida Atlantic University. She spent three years there, earning her Bachelor’s Degree while also working a full-time job. In 1996 Dr. Rine was accepted and began vet school at the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduating in 2000, Dr. Rine relocated to Maryland with her family. She worked with the veterinary care team at Hoffman Animal Hospital before purchasing the practice now known as Severn River Animal Hospital. Since opening its doors in March 10, 2003, Dr. Rine has enjoyed creating relationships with the community of clients. With them, she has shared her passion for adoption of rescue animals, as well as spaying and neutering animals to help control animal overpopulation. Her family includes three dogs: Buddy and D’Artagnan, two beagles rescued from Southern Maryland, Lance a rottweiler that came to her near death from parvovirus and two cats: Sam and Theo. Outside of the practice, Dr. Rine enjoys running, cross stitch, and working on the board of directors of her church.
